About The Position

Summer Intern - Commercial Credit (Non-Remote) More than accounts-build a rewarding a career in banking with United Community! Our internship program offers hands-on experience and a unique opportunity to learn the core principles of the financial services industry. Over the course of this 10-week program, interns will gain exposure to key banking areas and processes and how they function across departments. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, build valuable skills, and explore career paths in banking. What You'll Do Support Risk Rating model performance monitoring to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist with annual credit review processing, contributing to portfolio quality and risk assessment. Participate in loan system user testing, helping validate functionality and improve efficiency. Shadow Lenders, Loan Officers, and Credit Officers to observe how client credit needs are evaluated and met. Gain insight into effective risk management practices and the decision-making process behind commercial lending.

Requirements

  • College students or rising high school graduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA or better
  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
  • Energetic, organized, detail-oriented with proficiency in Microsoft 365 (including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams) and comfort using modern workplace technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective in both one-on-one and group settings
  • Independent worker
  • Ability to dedicate 35-40 hours per week to this intern program
  • Ability to work in-office in Greenville, SC
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background and credit check
  • This is a full-time non-remote position
