As a Commercial Credit intern at our Grand Rapids - Downtown office, you will be joining a diverse team of passionate problem solvers dedicated to protecting Independent Bank capital. In this full-time opportunity, you will work closely with Credit Analysts, assisting in tasks such as financial statement spreading, borrowing bases, and loan underwriting.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of accounting and finance
• Leadership & Communication skills.
• Critical Thinking & Problem Solving.
• Eagerness to Learn.
• Experience with Microsoft Suites.
• Must be currently enrolled in a relevant field of study.

Responsibilities

• Review credit data to evaluate loan requests.
• Monitor credit portfolio.
• Assist with financial statement spreading, borrowing bases, and underwriting of loans.
• Analyze sources of financial information, such as cash flows, and financial statements to determine potential risk.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
