About The Position

The Commercial Collateral Analyst supports the evaluation, documentation, and monitoring of collateral for commercial loan portfolios. This role ensures collateral is properly recorded, valued, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory standards. The analyst works closely with credit officers, loan operations, and relationship managers to help mitigate risk and support sound lending practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or collateral management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to collateral and loan documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with financial institutions or credit unions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review collateral documentation for commercial loans, including UCC filings, appraisals, title work, and insurance.
  • Assess the adequacy and quality of collateral securing loan facilities.
  • Monitor collateral values and ensure compliance with loan covenants and margin requirements.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for appraisals and environmental reports.
  • Maintain collateral tracking systems and databases.
  • Adheres to Credit Union 1’s MBL policies and procedures; stays abreast of regulations that impact lending and credit granting.
  • Assist in loan reviews, audits, and regulatory examinations by providing accurate collateral documentation.
  • Collaborate with credit and lending teams to structure deals with appropriate collateral coverage.
  • Identify and report collateral-related risks or deficiencies to the appropriate party
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance collateral management efficiency and accuracy.
