About The Position

Skillforce is seeking a skilled a Commercial Carpenter for an ongoing construction project in Easton, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience renovating commercial buildings and be proficient in crafting, installing, and repairing both structural and decorative woodwork. Candidates should also have hands-on experience building decks, installing handrails, and performing rough framing. This is a long-term contract expected to last approximately 2.5 years and offers a guaranteed 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Must have experience with building decks, installing handrails, and rough framing.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial carpentry or related construction work.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Nice To Haves

Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training.
Experience with advanced carpentry techniques such as metal framing or concrete formwork.
Familiarity with power tools and machinery specific to commercial construction.
Ability to use computer software for project management or design (e.g., CAD software).
Strong communication skills and experience working in team-oriented environments.

Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and materials needed.
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials to construct frameworks, partitions, and fixtures.
Install doors, windows, cabinetry, and other wood components with precision and adherence to safety codes.
Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate schedules and ensure seamless integration of carpentry work with other trades.
Maintain and operate carpentry tools and equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance as needed.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and compliance with building codes are met.
Adapt to changing project demands and troubleshoot issues that arise during construction phases.
