About The Position

Parkway is looking for an experienced Commercial Property Engineer to join our team at 1501 E. Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa, Florida. The Property Engineer applies trade skills to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of building systems for the safe, efficient, and proper operation of the assigned property. The individual in this role must be capable of completing all tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or property management staff with some supervision, assisting when assigned team projects and accepting responsibility for actions and results.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the building operation / maintenance field
  • Ability to understand building and tenant architectural drawings
  • Universal CFC certification preferred
  • Knowledge of all equipment types and ages
  • Client service-oriented attitude
  • Working knowledge of the safe and proper use of tools such as ladders, lifts, basic hand tools, multimeters, and safety equipment
  • Basic knowledge of the operation of heavy equipment such as chillers, generators, and pumps
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Effective time management and personal organization skills
  • Growing proficiency in computer technology beyond a basic level
  • Professional, effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret documents
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide common units of measure
  • Must be available for after-hours and weekend assignments or emergency calls
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Universal CFC certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and maintaining the efficient operation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, to ensure optimal performance and tenant satisfaction.
  • Conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and promptly addressing any malfunctions or repairs needed to sustain building operations.
  • Assisting in the implementation of energy management programs, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Effective communication with tenants and coordination with other maintenance staff to address facility issues and support seamless building operations.
  • Ensuring prompt response and resolution to facility operational issues, including HVAC to maintain temperatures in accordance with lease agreements, as well as plumbing, electrical, and equipment malfunctions.
