About The Position

Moore-Tulsa is currently looking for Cutter Operato r join our Team! Summary: Commercial Bindery Cutter Operators will set up, operate, and maintenance on machines. The primary role for this position is to maintain safety and quality standards while meeting production goals. A Commercial Bindery cutter operator can efficiently operate all of the cutter equipment and perform in all areas if needed.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years experience machine operating preferred
  • Must be able to consistently lift 50lbs
  • Required to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend at waist, and move about the facility
  • Required to grip, twist, and turn with both hands for long periods of time
  • Must be able to operate manual equipment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Printing industry experience desired but not required

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and consistently meet production goals that are set by the Manager daily.
  • Must be able to read and understand Job Ticket and the specifications of all jobs, including troubleshooting any and all discrepancies
  • Able to use data collection system to be consistent and accurate
  • Review specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold and page or sheet size
  • Measure from edge of sheet using scale to determine incremental cutting positions from guide
  • Enter cutting positions in proper order into computer memory
  • Remove sheets of printed or unprinted paper stack from the load and place them on the cutter bed.
  • Jog and align sheets against the cutter guide in preparation for cutting
  • Activate computer to move sheets into first cut position.
  • Activate double hand switches to begin cutting operation.
  • Examine cut material for any imperfections and adjust computer program as needed
  • Remove finished or pre-finished material from the cutter bed and stack on pallets for shipment to the customer or next operation
  • Record job information on load tags and time sheets
  • Change knives and lubricate as needed as recommended by manufacturers specifications
  • Be able to accept directions from supervisor, management, and coworkers to improve on quality and production.
  • Bring unresolved or continuing problems to the attention of management/supervisor
  • Work in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is mandatory
  • All other duties as assigned
