About The Position
The Commercial Banking Credit Analyst Internship at BMO is an exciting opportunity designed for students to learn the fundamentals of commercial lending through hands-on credit analysis and risk assessment. Your role will involve making credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures. You will act independently and efficiently, taking ownership of client satisfaction while also engaging in focused calling and pipeline management activities. Your responsibilities will include providing advice and guidance to assigned business groups, breaking down strategic problems, and analyzing data to provide insights and recommendations. You will conduct thorough analyses of client capital and credit risk, ensuring accurate financial assessments of both new and existing customers. Collaboration with internal stakeholders will be essential to gather detailed client information necessary for making informed lending decisions. Additionally, you will assist in negotiating terms and conditions of lending decisions through effective communication with clients via phone and email. Your ability to prepare summaries, present facts, and offer opinions regarding creditworthiness will be crucial in minimizing BMO's risk exposure. You will also contribute to the planning and implementation of operational programs while building effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
