About The Position

The Commercial Banking Analyst supports the commercial lending function of Foresight Bank through analysis of financial information and management of the credit portfolio. The Commercial Banking Analyst works closely with bankers, credit personnel, and management to document repayment capacity for all borrower types. This documentation includes written loan proposals and other financial analysis as needed. The Commercial Banking Analyst will also participate in sales training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of sales skills, banking products, and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or relevant banking experience.
  • General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Capacity for assessing and interpreting numerical data and describing effectively in narrative format.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to address situations by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with bank management and functional groups. Interact with others positively and build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Motivated and driven by achieving or surpassing expectations, proactively identifying efficiencies, learning new products and improving delivery of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely written analysis for new commercial loan applications, with documentation of borrowers’ financial strengths and weaknesses. The analysis will include an assessment of the borrower’s cash flow, liquidity, leverage, collateral, guarantor support, and industry.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and other data.
  • Input financial statements into a financial software application and analyze the reports produced.
  • Accurate analysis of financial data.
  • Active participation in loan committees and credit meetings.
  • Complete understanding and application of loan policies and lending directives.
  • Management of the bank’s renewal and annual review pipelines.
  • Credit portfolio management activities as determined by bank and credit management.
  • Assist clients with banking products, cash management services, and loan servicing inquiries.
  • Attends and performs customer service activities outside of the bank.
  • Participates in other projects and/or duties as assigned by leader.
  • Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, and EEO/AA/Fair Employment Practices.
