Requirements

  • Available to work claims primarily aligned with the Pacific Time Zone.
  • At least 85% of the caseload will originate from this region.
  • Flexibility to be scheduled a shift with a 7:30pm ending time (Pacific Time).
  • High School Diploma/GED or a minimum of one year of customer service experience in a virtual environment.
  • Must hold an Adjuster license for all applicable states or obtain license(s) within 90 days of completing the provided licensing training.
  • Basic math and moderate computer skills with technical aptitude to utilize a variety of software applications.
  • Must meet work from home requirements including internet speeds and designated workspace.
  • Ability to type 30 wpm.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two or more years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Prior insurance claims experience also preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus!
  • Auto physical damage training and/or I-CAR or SCLA enrollment preferred.
  • Strong Customer Service skills for both internal/external customers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Handle routine non-complex to moderately complex non-injury Commercial auto claims.
  • Open, investigate, evaluate, and settle auto claims ensuring compliance with Department of Insurance and other statutory requirements.
  • Adjust higher-complexity liability claims including property damage claims and total losses.
  • Verify coverage on policies with standard commercial symbols and/or specialty exposures.
  • Service physical damage exposures in collaboration with the casualty adjuster for claims with injury.
  • Contact insureds, claimants, and other involved parties to confirm loss details and applicable policy coverage.
  • Explain claims process, next steps, and outcomes to involved parties.
  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle first- and third-party auto/property damage claims from start to finish.
  • Conduct coverage and liability investigations.
  • Advise customers of available benefits, coverages, and liability outcomes.
  • Coordinate and oversee the claims process; keeping customers informed.
  • Negotiate estimating damages and supplements.
  • Validate reparability and monitor repairs.
  • Arrange towing, storage, and rental vehicles as needed.
  • Address subrogation and total loss responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with specific state regulations and/or policy provisions.
  • Support other areas of claims as needed.
  • Actively shape company culture by participating in employee resource groups and volunteering.
  • Travel as needed for role, including divisional/team meetings and other in-person meetings.
