About The Position

Vault 44.01 (“Vault”) is a leading carbon capture & storage (“CCS”) developer focused on the development, capitalization, and operation of carbon storage assets throughout North America. Vault’s team brings over 90 years of direct carbon storage experience, with involvement in the development of carbon storage projects across North America since 2007. Vault’s capabilities span technical analysis, project design, permitting, stakeholder engagement, land leasing and acquisition, facility construction, and operations. In collaboration with our industrial partners, we are currently developing CCS projects in the US Midwest, US Southeast, and Canada focusing on single CO2 source, near-site sequestration projects and including 7 projects currently under contract. Vault has secured a US$300 million equity capital commitment from Grey Rock Investment Partners (Dallas, TX based private equity company) and has offices in Denver, CO and Calgary, AB. The Commercial Associate plays a key supporting role within the commercial function, helping to drive organizational growth, strengthen customer relationships, and support strategic commercial initiatives. This individual works closely with business development, legal, finance and project management to ensure effective development and execution of commercial agreements. Collaboration and communication with other functions across the organization, including engineering, land, project execution, and corporate financ,e will be required to support the accurate and timely tracking and reporting of Vault’s financial transactions. Requirements

  • Degree in business, economics, or engineering with a strong preference for an MBA
  • 7-15 years of experience in an energy-related field with direct experience in a commercial / customer-facing function
  • Strong negotiating skills and demonstrated experience drafting and editing commercial documents
  • Strong finance and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks
  • Curiosity about the energy industry (renewables, power markets, gas, trading, retail, etc.)
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing proposals and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Working closely with senior leadership in preparation and communication with the company sponsor / board of directors, including the development of presentations
  • Provide ongoing oversight and guidance post-closing of contracts to ensure project management, operations, and finance are aligned with the customer agreements
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the business development team to provide commercial insights and input as opportunities are sourced
  • Support financial modelling and pricing activities under guidance from senior colleagues
