To connect with us, visit www.usatodayco.com USA TODAY 10BEST is seeking a dynamic and creative social manager and content creator to focus on three key areas: growing 10BEST’s audience through social and video; writing affiliate content for the site; and writing CPC content for USA TODAY across multiple categories, including home services, finance, and more. We are seeking an early-career editorial professional who wants to spread their wings at a major media brand. This person thrives on creating strategies to reach new audiences and creating engaging, service-oriented content. The role will be responsible for overseeing 10BEST’s social media efforts and pitching and writing content. This role will report to the editorial director of portfolio businesses and affiliate partnerships and work closely with 10BEST’s digital editor. This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in journalism or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-plus years of experience in social media marketing, lifestyle journalism, digital media, or editorial roles with a focus on service content.
  • Proven ability to develop social and video strategies.
  • Hands-on experience creating social video.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a distinct, engaging voice.
  • Good command of AP grammar and style.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in SEO best practices and tools.
  • Adhere to Gannett’s Principles of Ethical Conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement platform-specific strategies to grow and engage audiences across established and emerging social media platforms.
  • Coordinate social planning with other teams and social editors at USA TODAY.
  • Track and report on key metrics such as engagement rates, follower growth, reach, and conversions.
  • Pitch or be assigned affiliate stories and write, covering themes such as food, travel, home, home services, finance, entertainment, and seasonal inspiration.
  • Collaborate with other 10BEST and USA TODAY editors to strategically integrate social, affiliate, and broader team strategies.
  • Collaborate with SEO, audience, and analytics teams to optimize content for search and syndication across USA TODAY Network platforms.
  • Maintain editorial standards and voice consistency across all platforms and stories, ensuring content is informative, upbeat, and accessible.
