MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: As a Command Publications Analyst, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USCENTCOM Secretary of the Joint Staff (SJS). You will play a crucial role by overseeing and managing all aspects of command publications, ensuring the timely production, dissemination, and compliance with DoD and USCENTCOM directives, instructions, and policies. This position involves coordinating the development, revision, review, and archiving of official publications critical to mission readiness and compliance across the CENTCOM AOR. The position requires close collaboration with military, civilian, and contractor personnel to ensure all USCENTCOM publications meet operational, legal, and policy requirements while maintaining the highest standards of clarity and accuracy.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in publications management, technical writing, or a similar role within a DoD or federal environment
  • Technical skills: Strong understanding of DoD regulations, policies, and guidelines related to publications management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with publications management software.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership and diverse teams
  • Required Security clearance level: TS/SCI

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting USCENTCOM or a Combatant Command (CCMD) Secretary of the Joint Staff.
  • Familiarity with DoD publications management systems or tools such as e-Pubs, SharePoint, or similar content management systems.
  • Knowledge of DoD directives, instructions, and other official publications formats and compliance requirements.
  • Certifications related to technical writing, project management, or publications management (e.g., PMP, ITIL).
  • Military background or experience working in a military staff environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of USCENTCOM publications, from creation and revision to dissemination and archiving.
  • Ensure that USCENTCOM publications align with DoD directives, USCENTCOM policies, and service regulations.
  • Manage the publication review process, ensuring timely updates and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Track and manage the distribution of publications and ensure all stakeholders have access to the latest versions.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) across USCENTCOM to ensure technical accuracy and relevance in publications.
  • Serve as a point of contact for USCENTCOM publication-related inquiries and requests.
  • Work closely with the USCENTCOM J6, legal, operations, and policy teams to ensure consistency and accuracy across publications.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders in understanding publication requirements, formatting standards, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate the review and approval of publications by senior leadership, ensuring they are aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure all publications adhere to USCENTCOM’s quality assurance standards, including formatting, referencing, and content clarity.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and accurate records management system for all publications.
  • Review and assess changes in DoD and USCENTCOM regulations and standards to ensure compliance and update publications as necessary.
  • Implement and enforce document control procedures to ensure the integrity and authenticity of official publications.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for USCENTCOM personnel on publication standards, procedures, and tools.
  • Provide expert guidance on publication-related issues, including formatting, citations, and compliance.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of publication templates, checklists, and guides to support USCENTCOM teams
