About The Position

SAIC is currently seeking a Command Post Exercise (CPX) Planner located at Camp Smith in Hawaii to support the USINDOPACOM J73 orchestrating the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) planning and efficient execution of designated USINDOPACOM J733 exercises, Theater Exercises Branch. Travel up to 20% of the year may be required to support the planning and execution of designated exercises. Requirements

  • Ability to plan, direct, monitor and assess designated Tier 1 Multi-Combatant Command Command-Post Exercises (MCC-CPX).
  • Ability to coordinate with U.S. Joint Staff J7, U.S. Combatant Command exercise planners, and interagency partners.
  • Current knowledge of emergent geopolitical dynamics within the USINDOPACOM AOR, contingency plans, joint force and adversary capabilities, command systems, and training enablers.
  • Ability to develop exercise control training briefs, exercise planning milestones, and exercise planning work group organizational requirements.
  • Ability to perform Senior Control functions for the Exercise Control Group (ECG) during CPX execution.
  • Ability to ensure coordination with staff and other organizations to support the ECG with proper personnel during planning and execution leveraging the Joint Manning Document (JMD) process.
  • Ability to lead exercise work group planning meetings and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) with senior leaders.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and maintain efficient protocols, processes, and procedures in support of exercise planning and execution including authoring exercise directives (PLANORD/EXORD) and Exercise Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to maintain appropriate OPSEC conditions at multiple levels of classification while working with military, civilian, contractor, and foreign allied personnel.
  • Ability to maintain associated J733 exercise information data sites and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to designated exercises.
  • Ability to leverage appropriate tools in support of the JELC such as Task Management System (TMS), Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS), Joint Training Tool (JTT) and other related databases or systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support USINDOPACOM J733 as a Joint Command-Post Exercise (CPX) Planner to plan, direct, monitor and assess designated Tier 1 Multi-Combatant Command Command-Post Exercises (MCC-CPX) such as ELITE CONSTELLATION and PACIFIC FURY.
  • Coordinate with U.S. Joint Staff J7, U.S. Combatant Command exercise planners, and interagency partners to ensure unified action and communication of intent for a global exercise design.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emergent geopolitical dynamics within the USINDOPACOM AOR, contingency plans, joint force and adversary capabilities, command systems, and training enablers.
  • Develop exercise control training briefs, exercise planning milestones with associated deliverables, and exercise planning work group organizational requirements for all planning events (EDM, CDC, IPC, MPC, FPC) during the JELC.
  • Perform Senior Control functions for the Exercise Control Group (ECG) during CPX execution.
  • Ensure coordination with staff and other organizations to support the ECG with proper personnel during planning and execution leveraging the Joint Manning Document (JMD) process.
  • Lead exercise work group planning meetings with all stakeholders and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) with senior leaders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient protocols, processes, and procedures in support of exercise planning and execution including authoring exercise directives (PLANORD/EXORD) and Exercise Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
