About The Position

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the anticipated vacancy of CommEd Childcare Program Substitute. This position involves working as a Substitute Teacher's Assistant, with the length of the workday varying based on need. The programs run from 6:45 am to 6:00 pm. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill it based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of records on students.
• Assist with Lions Pride CommEd Childcare Program implementing activities for students to enhance their experience in Extended Day.
• Assist in meeting students' individualized needs by adapting behavior management expectations and plans.
• Confer with teachers, team leaders and other appropriate personnel regarding students.
• Supervise and interact with students.
• Communicate with parents, sharing positive highlights as well as any concerns regarding their child as needed.
• Perform other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate behavior and manage transitions smoothly.
• Collaborate with the program team to assure all needs of the program are being met, including cleaning tables/chairs, returning toys to shelves, prep work, diapering, supervising recess, snack and lunch, bathroom runs, etc.
• Use positive behavior management techniques at all times.
