Are you a student majoring in Mechanical Engineering with an interest in Commissioning and looking for Summer Internship opportunities? P2S is an award-winning engineering firm named "Best Place to Work" for the past 15 years. The internship program aims to offer a positive work/training experience aligned with career goals and education level. Interns will be part of the Commissioning team, gaining hands-on experience in office and field settings and actively contributing to client projects. The program emphasizes real-world industry exposure, including visits to project sites and internal training opportunities, fostering a unique learning experience and encouraging participation in company events. The Summer Internship lasts 10-12 weeks, starting in June and ending in August - September, depending on the candidate's availability.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical Engineering or other related studies.
  • Must be proficient with Excel and Microsoft Products
  • Must have a valid Drivers License and mode of transportation
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic and multiple-engagement environment, dedication to teamwork, a strong work initiative, and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas; detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • FE/EIT is a plus
  • Trained to utilize CAD/BIM standards
  • Familiarity with HVAC system design, and Building Commissioning is a plus
  • Involvement in ASHRAE is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
  • Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project development.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.
  • Assist in conducting tests to ensure the functionality and reliability of MEP systems.
  • Work closely with quality assurance teams to identify and address potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
  • Generate reports and summaries to communicate project progress.
  • Attend meetings and generate meeting minutes.
  • Help review equipment submittals and developing and update document tracking logs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing valuable insights and feedback.
  • Assist commissioning agents with conducting onsite functional performance testing for MEP systems
  • Assist in project trend reviews for Mechanical systems to ensure equipment and systems are operating as intended.
  • Engage in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
  • Engage in learning about new control systems and MEP equipment.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous learning and development within the engineering field.
