About The Position

The Comcast Cybersecurity Architect (Level 5) role focuses on the security design of Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded Linux Systems. The position is responsible for promoting secure technology standards, monitoring emerging technologies, and developing security infrastructure to support business processes. The architect will mentor team members, ensure adherence to coding and architectural guidelines, and drive issues to resolution while considering end-to-end business problems.

Requirements

• Must have knowledge of modern Linux security concepts such as Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux), AppArmor, Grsecurity, or other hardening techniques.
• Experience with industry and secure technology standards in IoT and Embedded Linux Systems.
• Experience monitoring emerging technologies in the IoT space.
• Ability to balance tactical and strategic technology solutions.
• Familiarity with CVEs, CVSS scores, and prioritizing security vulnerability fixes.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with global engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and System-on-a-Chip (SoC) concepts.
• Familiarity with C/C++ programming language and Yocto/Jenkins Build Systems.
• Understanding of secure networking concepts and cryptography.
• Practical experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar Linux developer boards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor emerging technologies and practices in the IoT space for potential use within the company.
• Design and develop updated Embedded System security infrastructure to support business processes.
• Ensure a balance between tactical and strategic technology solutions.
• Consider business problems end-to-end, including people, process, and technology.
• Mentor team members and review code to ensure adherence to secure design best practices.
• Identify and drive issues through to closure.
