Join Oglethorpe Power as a Combustion Turbine Technician III–IV at our Sewell Creek Plant, where you will serve as a senior technical resource supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a critical generation facility. In this advanced role, you will lead and execute complex maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and operational activities for combustion turbines and balance-of-plant systems, ensuring high equipment reliability and readiness to meet system demands. Technicians at Sewell Creek operate in a fast-paced environment that requires strong technical judgment, adherence to rigorous safety and compliance standards, and the ability to mentor junior technicians while coordinating closely with plant leadership and support teams. This position offers experienced turbine professionals the opportunity to take ownership of plant performance, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and play a key role in supporting grid reliability across Oglethorpe Power's generation fleet. Responsible for the performance, operations, and maintenance of simple-cycle combustion turbine technologies and generating assets in a manner that optimizes reliability, availability, and O&M costs while maintaining the highest standards in safety, environmental, and NERC electrical reliability. A technician must understand and apply concepts to operate the equipment and perform plant systems analysis to take actions for identifying, resolving, and/or avoiding failure modes. In addition, the individual performs operator rounds, troubleshooting, preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on plant systems/equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations, as well as enhance equipment longevity. The incumbent is responsible for continuous improvement and providing reliable and efficient electric power generation in compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures, environmental, mandatory electric reliability standards, FERC, EPA, EPD, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable governmental regulations.
