About The Position

As a Combo Welder at United Trades of America, you will be responsible for performing a variety of welding techniques, including Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core welding. The ideal candidate will have experience and proficiency in welding pipe, plate, and structural components, with a preference for those certified in 6G welding. This role requires precision, skill, and a dedication to maintaining high-quality standards in all welding processes.

Requirements

  • Welding Experience: Proven experience as a Combo Welder, with proficiency in Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core welding techniques. Experience in pipe welding and structural welding is highly desirable.
  • Certifications: Preferred certification in 6G welding, demonstrating proficiency in welding pipes in various positions. Additional welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME) are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of welding principles, techniques, and materials, with the ability to interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds with precision and accuracy.
  • Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople and project team members.

Responsibilities

  • Welding Operations: Perform welding operations using a variety of techniques, including Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core, to join metal components according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Pipe Welding: Weld pipes of various materials, diameters, and thicknesses in multiple positions, including vertical, horizontal, and overhead, using 6G techniques where applicable.
  • Plate and Structural Welding: Weld plate and structural components for construction and fabrication projects, ensuring strong and durable joints.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct visual inspections of welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices at all times.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure they remain in good working condition. Report any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies to the appropriate personnel for repair.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including weld logs, inspection reports, and certifications, as required by company policies and regulatory requirements.
