About The Position

Transmission & Substation (T&S) Standards are responsible for maintaining and developing new standards and engineering practices that ensure standardized, efficient, safe, and cost-effective designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer (2)
  • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches and engineering theory
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in unique areas of engineering expertise
  • 7+ years of professional engineering experience
  • Minimum of three related career experiences or Lead Member of a recognized industry committee or Professional Engineer's License

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, updating, and facilitating the development of T&S design standards
  • Providing technical expertise to strategic, legislative, and operational decisions
  • Collaborating with other Exelon companies to create, update, and apply internal/industry design standards and technology
  • Training and mentoring others
  • Working with vendors on material design improvements and implementation
  • Collaborating with various groups to set design and material standards and applications
  • Providing recommendations for management and implementing action plans to improve reliability
  • Interface with applicable industry groups to introduce new design improvements and materials
