Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.
  • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of complex field test equipment.
  • 4-7 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles necessary to perform very complex or unique assignments.
  • Minimum of two related career experiences or Engineer in Training or 50% complete with advanced technical degree, M.B.A. or Project Management Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management Certification.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • 2 or more years of testing and commissioning experience on transmission and substation equipment.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing and commissioning engineering activities associated with installation of new equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance of existing equipment.
  • Create commissioning plans, write livening procedures, create and run test plans, and analyze test results compared to expected values.
  • Troubleshoot and perform field investigations for malfunctioning power equipment, system events, and protective relaying miss-operations.
  • Support corrective maintenance to repair any identified equipment issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on protection system components and SCADA.
  • Support the technical development of transmission and substation engineers.
  • Create, maintain, and instruct programs that set strong foundational knowledge and improve skills for engineers.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $90,400.00/Yr. - $124,300.00/Yr.
