About the position

The position involves developing studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, and budgets related to the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas, and telecommunication facilities/systems. The role provides analytical support and consultation to the company and other business units or customers based on studies of company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles, or facilities. The position may require extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and performs engineering assignments associated with critical engineering projects or multiple small projects with complex features.
  • Evaluates, develops, and implements projects that have significant financial and operational impact.
  • Acts independently and may lead multi-discipline teams.
  • Provides recommendations and implements action plans to improve performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participates in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 4 or more years of relevant experience, or 6 or more years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches.
  • Knowledge of construction, operations, or engineering principles and practices.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary for specific discipline installations or service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in civil structural design.
  • Good understanding of the properties and behavior of construction materials like steel and concrete.
  • Basic knowledge of construction methods and practices.
  • Proficient in ACAD and Raster Design, Acrobat or Bluebeam, Office 365.
  • AutoDesk Inventor (3D Modeling a plus).
