About The Position

The Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Penn State Health, Penn State College of Medicine, is seeking two highly qualified, clinically strong, academically oriented and motivated Board-certified/eligible Colon and Rectal Surgeons at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The Division currently includes 5 Full Time and 2 Part-Time Colorectal Surgeons and one Full-Time PhD scientist. Penn State Health is a rapidly growing multi-hospital health system serving patients and communities across 29 counties in central Pennsylvania and the Northeast.

Requirements

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree
• BC/BE in Colon and Rectal Surgery
• Strong commitment to collegial teamwork and outstanding patient care
• Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
• Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality clinical care to patients with benign and malignant diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus.
• Engage in medical student, surgical resident, and colorectal surgery fellow education.
• Participate in scholarly activity and impactful research.
• Collaborate with other departments and institutes for research opportunities.
• Support administrative and clinical staff in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
