About The Position

Geisinger is seeking a fellowship trained Colorectal Surgeon to join their health delivery system at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley level 1 Trauma Hospital in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. This position offers a general colorectal surgery practice with a focus on cancers and inflammatory bowel disease, within an academic environment that supports teaching and research.

Requirements

• Fellowship trained in Colorectal Surgery.
• Board certification in General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery.
• Experience in managing a high volume of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease cases.

Responsibilities

• Perform colorectal surgeries with a focus on cancers and inflammatory bowel disease.
• Participate in shared call with other surgeons in the division.
• Engage in teaching and mentoring residents and fellows in the ACGME accredited Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship and General Surgery Residency.
• Contribute to research initiatives and multidisciplinary conferences related to GI cancer.
• Utilize advanced surgical technologies, including Da Vinci Robots, in procedures.
