The Division of Colorectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is seeking an academic colorectal surgeon to join our growing faculty. This position will be based primarily at The Miriam Hospital, with practice opportunities at other Brown-affiliated hospitals across the health system, including Newport Hospital and into southeastern Massachusetts. The role is designed for a surgeon who is passionate about excellence in clinical care while also embracing the academic mission of our department. Approximately 80% of the position will be clinical, caring for patients with the full spectrum of benign and malignant colorectal diseases. In addition, there are rich opportunities to contribute to resident and fellow education and to engage in scholarly activity. The Division is proud to support both a General Surgery Residency and an ACGME-accredited Colorectal Surgery Fellowship, providing a stimulating teaching environment with motivated trainees at multiple levels. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. The department values innovation, collaboration, and mentorship, and we are particularly interested in individuals who can enhance the research and educational missions of the division. Areas of potential scholarly focus include outcomes research, surgical education, health services research, and clinical innovation, though we are open to diverse academic interests.
