About The Position

Carle Health is seeking an additional BE/BC Colon-Rectal Surgeon to join our practice at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. The practice consists of full spectrum of elective and emergent Colon-Rectal surgery including IBD, ano-rectal disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, diverticulitis, colon cancer, and multi-disciplinary treatment of rectal cancer. We focus on high-quality, evidence-based patient care, utilizing enhanced recovery protocols, and participate in several programs with the Illinois Surgical Quality Improvement Collaborative (ISQIC), the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), as well as industry-sponsored research studies. Ideal candidate must be BE/BC in Colon and Rectal Surgery with experience in minimally invasive techniques. Must have an interest in caring for complex patients. Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration with partners is expected. The Colorectal Surgery Team includes 2 APPs who collaborate in all aspects of patient care. State-of-the-art Digestive Health Institute with 10 endoscopic suites with dedicated colonoscopy blocks for each CRS. The Digestive Health Institute houses Colon-Rectal surgeons and Gastroenterology physicians and services in one facility. Must have interest in teaching General Surgery Residents and medical students. The candidate should qualify for faculty appointment with Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Opportunity for collaborative research with the University of Illinois through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine and scientists in other academic units at our Biomedical Research Center.

Requirements
