About The Position

The Manager-Analytics role at Penske Truck Leasing involves leading and mentoring a team of data scientists and analysts to deliver machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics projects. The position focuses on overseeing the entire process from discovery to deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency through data-driven insights.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• PhD preferred.
• MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, statistical modeling, or optimization in an industry or research setting.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring teams with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Hands-on experience managing hybrid teams through all stages of data science project development.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Intermediate project management experience with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, PySpark, or similar analytic tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with strategic thinking ability.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and coach a team of data scientists and analysts to deliver high-quality analytical solutions and machine learning models.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and translate business needs into actionable data science solutions.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models, ensuring scalability and accuracy.
• Present analytical insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and provide professional development opportunities for the team.
• Effectively allocate resources to support AI and ML initiatives in collaboration with IT and other departments.
