Collision Paint Tech I
About The Position
A Collision Paint Technician I, under the leadership of the Operations Manager, Repair Center, is responsible for refinishing damaged auto parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with Original Equipment (OE) Factory and related Toyota Technical Information System (TIS) systems quality specifications and time standards. Understand, stay informed of and comply with Federal, State and Local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company's Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and
- 1-3 years related experience as a collision paint technician with sheet metal and interior collision repair experience required.
- Ability to prep, paint parts and buff defects and perform quality checks
- Experience with refinishing/refinishing preparation, plastic repair and priming
- Ability to read and follow instructions on repair/estimate orders.
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Toyota TIS a plus
- ASE Certifications in auto body repair, painting and estimating Preferred
- Painting and Refinishing Certification for Collision Repair Preferred
- Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair Preferred
- Certificate from Vocational School in Collision Preferred
- Color Matching Color Matching is when pigments are combined to achieve a specified color in a specific polymer. Preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform sanding, grinding, masking, surface prep, and cleaning to prepare vehicles for painting
- Mix and adjust paint for proper color match and apply to OE specifications
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE (respirator, gloves, safety glasses, boots, etc.)
