Job Responsibilities: Break down estimates into labor and parts before job is started so body men are aware of time allowances. Follow up parts department orders to insure parts availability. Revise and approve time allowances of each job. Assist with quality check of completed jobs. Prepare final billing for completed repair orders. Responsible for aiding the Body Shop Manager in the daily activities of the shop. These include: communications with technicians, painters, other departments with-in the dealership, insurance company representatives, parts wholesalers, and especially customers. Investigate new equipment and tools in the field and recommend purchases. Forecast goals and objectives for the department. Check the general Body Shop appearance (outside and inside). Estimate writing, repair selling, job scheduling, completion date notification, repair order billing, filing, problem solving, phone answering, supplement authorization and follow-up, weekly payroll, Quality Control maintenance and continual education in the Body Shop Industry. Examine Body Shop ROs and other paperwork in Body Shop Office. Make occasional inspections of completed ready-for-delivery body work. (Is the quality and general appearance of car acceptable?). QualificationsJob Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Two years experience in a dealership estimator position preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
