The Live Well Peer Coach position is part of the Federal Work Study Program (FWS) at Daley College, which provides subsidized part-time employment for eligible students to assist with their financial needs. The program aims to connect students to a supportive campus environment that aids in their academic, social, and cultural transitions. Live Well Peer Coaches will work within The Wellness Center to promote health-related topics and resources, develop programming, and serve as role models for healthy living among their peers.

  • Meet with students in designated or assigned spaces on campus.
  • Assist with the facilitation and promotion of health-related program information on priority college health topics.
  • Develop health-related program information for the student body, including researching college health and wellness topics.
  • Deliver health-related program information through social media posts and advertising services and events.
  • Increase student awareness of healthy lifestyles by acting as a role model.
  • Work with Project S.A.F.E. campus coordinators to educate peers on gender-based violence and bystander intervention.
  • Help students become knowledgeable about campus and community resources.
  • Ensure program information is culturally sensitive and inclusive.
  • Adhere to confidentiality policies of The Wellness Center.
  • Attend professional development and training opportunities.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Must be 16 years or older and eligible to work in the United States.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit classes with at least 12 graduation credit hours completed.
  • Pursuing an approved educational degree.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (waived for first semester new students).
  • In good standing with no academic restrictions at City Colleges of Chicago.
  • Not currently a full or part-time employee of City Colleges of Chicago.
  • Exhibit knowledge of issues impacting historically underrepresented student populations.
  • Articulate and provide evidence of a growing leadership portfolio.
  • Adhere to a strong code of ethics.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Hourly pay rate of $17-$19, determined by location.
