About The Position

Provides academic tutoring services to a wide variety of adult individuals (students). Creates and implements tutorial programs that guide and assist students with homework, problem solving, report writing, and test preparation in the disciplines of: Reading Math English

Requirements

• Applicants must have completed at least one full year at a accredited college and one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from site (Central Ga. Tech).
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
• Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.
• Records maintenance skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of test administration techniques and procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Organizing and coordinating skills.
• Knowledge of tutorial/learning materials and instructional aids.
• Knowledge of peer counseling/tutoring processes and methods.
• Skill in preparing instructional aids and plans.

Responsibilities

• Tutors students individually or in scheduled group study session to review principles, solve problems, and review for tests.
• Create lesson plans for students.
• Assess students on their existing ability in a study area
• Assess a student’s level of progress within a subject and identify areas for improvement.
• Review student’s homework assignments & test scores and working through problem questions that the student did not answer correctly.
• Maintains confidential progress file on each student with recorded test grades.
• Maintains positive encouraging communication and respect with each student.
