Excellence is in the details! Anchor Glass in Elmira is currently hiring fulltime summer college relief help. Scheduled 40+ hours per week with plenty of overtime opportunities available. In this role you will place ware off or on lines as necessary. Un-jams equipment such as conveying lines, inspection equipment and case packers as necessary. Prepares paperwork such as production tally sheets. This entry level position also includes line monitoring, palletizer operations and reselect. Performs other work as assigned by the Supervisor and may have to work in other departments as needed. For example: paint, clean, landscape, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

Students must be 18 years old and have completed at least one year of college with verifiable enrollment in continuing education, or just graduated High School and are enrolled (verifiable) in college for the 2025 Fall term.
Will work through August 31st, 2025 or start of semester.
Individuals will be assigned to a crew to work rotating shifts.
7- day rotating shift in Union environment.
Shift rotation is 7:00A - 3:00P, 3:00P - 11:00P, and 11:00P - 7:00A.

Responsibilities

Visually examines and/or gauges glassware and packs in cartons or attends semi-automatic equipment to insure conformance to specification.
Holds ware back or stops the line if not visually inspecting the ware.
Packs acceptable ware in cartons and may have to install required internal packaging requirements.
Responsible for unjamming and restarting all automatic inspection equipment.
Checks for partition damage from automatic case packer.
Place ware off or on lines as necessary.
Un-jams equipment such as conveying lines, inspection equipment and case packers as necessary.
Prepares paperwork such as production tally sheets.
Line monitoring
Palletizer operations
Reselect
Performs other work as assigned by the Supervisor and may have to work in other departments as needed. For example: paint, clean, landscape, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
