About the position
As a Night Stocker at H-E-B, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for stocking shelves and ensuring that the store is organized and well-stocked during the night hours. This role requires hard work, energy, and stamina, as you will be working in a fast-paced environment while everyone else is asleep. You will gain valuable experience across multiple departments, which can serve as a foundation for future career opportunities within the company. Responsibilities
- Stocks shelves and refills displays.
- Loads, unloads, and moves heavy, bulky products; may unload trucks.
- Conditions shelves and products.
- Learns and applies product knowledge with attention to detail.
- Keeps department clean and well-organized, including back room and shelves.
- Ensures compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and leader direction.
- Meets federal, state, and company regulations for product food safety and sanitation.
- Works efficiently with a team attitude and maintains productivity standards.
- Takes constructive feedback well and applies learning to future tasks.
- May coach or train other Stockers.
- Operates with a team mindset and builds relationships across departments.
- Models customer service and hospitality with customers and store partners.
- Assists customers in locating products and answering product questions.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18.
- Experience in stocking and customer service preferred.
- Experience in a physically demanding job is a plus.
- Forklift/power jack training will be provided upon hire.
- Understanding of SOPs related to emergency procedures and proper stocking.
- Strong communication skills, including reading and writing.
- Organization and time-management skills.
- Customer service skills and a service mentality.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Ability to think on your feet and work with agility.
- Ability to work as part of a team to meet nightly goals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to apply personal discipline to SOPs and leader direction.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
