The College of Engineering (COE) and School of Architecture (SOA) at the University of Miami are jointly inviting applications for two faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor or above. The successful candidates will collaborate on joint initiatives at the interface between COE, SOA, and other academic programs at the University, including the Climate Resilience Academy and the Frost Institute of Chemical and Molecular Sciences, and draw from their combined human, technological, and economic resources. The University is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. This unique opening has to be seen in the context of the University of Miami's ambitious Roadmap to Our New Century, which prioritizes mission-driven and integrated research. The positions are open to candidates with strong expertise in interdisciplinary investigations including but not limited to architectural design, material sciences, sustainability and resilience, structural systems, energy systems, energy-water nexus, climate resilience, building resilience, smart sensing, and data sciences applied at various scales in the built environment. Successful candidates should have a record of success in research activities consistent with the sought rank, and present a vision to create or contribute to a vibrant research group, consistent with the mission and joint vision of the COE and SOA.
