College and Medical Center Librarian
About The Position
POSITION SUMMARY: The College and Medical Center Librarian collaborates with library leadership regarding development and implementation of the academic medical center library collection and services. Provides all aspects of library activities including cataloging, shelving, circulation, acquisitions and deletions, and client services. Collaborates with all applicable personnel to facilitate achievement of computer and information literacy of all library patrons. Investigates the possibility of incorporating new library technology and services into all areas of library services. Responsible for ensuring the library is in compliance with all regulatory agencies. Works effectively with administration, faculty, students, and staff to promote library patron and student success.
Requirements
- Masters Library Sciences
- 2 years librarian experiance
- Experience using one of the following: Medline, OVID Technologies, OCLC, database searching techniques
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Nice To Haves
- Three years of experience working in a medical library setting.
- Requires knowledge office procedures and, in particular, the administration of a college and academic medical center library
- Knowledge of nationally recognized standards of information literacy (set by the Association of College and Research Libraries)
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse range of individuals and groups Analytical skills necessary to maintain and analyze an academic library collection
