About The Position

This role is central to preparing learners for high-demand careers by connecting high school students, community members, and working learners to industry-engaged credential opportunities, employers and work-based learning experiences. The coordinator will collaborate with campus education leaders, industry experts, and STEM-focused outreach efforts to support the development of Target Industry pathways. This position directly supports SUU's mission to strengthen a resilient, diversified economy by aligning educational opportunities with high-demand target industries that advance state and regional priorities. The coordinator contributes to meaningful industry and community engagement and connections to campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Career Advising, Business, Public Relations, Community Relations, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of professional experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including industry partners, campus partners, learners, and community leaders
  • Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
  • Travel and industry site visits required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in program coordination, education, STEM, or career advising.
  • Experience with spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of work-based learning, competency-based education, andragogy.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Target Industry career exploration throughout the region.
  • Support outreach efforts to recruit participants and expand access for rural and new learner populations.
  • Support key stakeholder and industry partnerships.
  • Coordinate and support Target Industry initiatives, including skills-focused, short-term opportunities for high school students, community members, and adult/working learners.
  • Lead communication, collaboration, and project management efforts, and facilitate meetings and workshops.
  • Advise participants regarding program enrollment and expectations.
  • Educate learners about industry-engaged milestone credential pathways and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Connect participants to campus resources; enhance career planning and workforce preparation.
  • Track participation.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Manage program timelines and evaluate effectiveness through feedback and performance measures.
