The New York City Law Department is seeking currently matriculating college or graduate students for a number of summer positions within the agency. College or graduate students selected for a position will have an opportunity to gain administrative or legal office experience. Students assigned for administrative tasks may perform but are not limited to duties such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and assistance with telephone coverage. Special projects may be assigned as needed. Students assigned to assist attorneys and paralegals may perform but are not limited to duties such as, drafting basic legal documents and notices, conducting legal and non-legal research, assisting with document productions, trials and assist with filing documents at the courts and/or City agencies; and basic tasks such as indexing, redacting, case coding, digesting, and bates numbering.
