The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish. The Department of Youth and Community Development is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented College Aide to support its Agency Operations team. This position offers a unique opportunity for current student to gain hands-on experience in public sector operations, data analysis, and interdepartmental coordination within city government.

  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of agency-wide initiatives and projects.
  • Support efforts to improve operational processes and enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Conduct data entry, validation, and quality assurance tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency across internal systems.
  • Help develop and maintain tracking tools and dashboards for performance metrics and project milestones.
  • Contribute to research and analysis related to agency operations, including the development of presentations and reports.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Procurement, Fiscal, Human Resources, Administrative Services, IT and Legal to support cross-functional projects and compliance efforts.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and documentation related to project management and internal initiatives.
  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.

  • Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years.
  • No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
