About The Position

The Collector for Drug & BA Testing at Quest Diagnostics plays a crucial role in obtaining medical information from patients, conducting interviews, collecting samples, and providing health coaching. This position is essential for ensuring accurate and timely specimen collection while maintaining a professional environment. The role offers flexibility in scheduling and territory management, allowing for independent work while being part of a supportive team.

Requirements

  • DOT Certification and any other necessary documentation pertaining to this position must be presented prior to a job offer.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record with access to dependable and insured transportation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage in the field to ensure collections are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment for clients and employees.
  • Perform specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures using DOT guideline 49 CFR-Part 40.
  • Complete random and emergency observed urine collections of same sex clients as needed.
  • Collect specimens for drug screenings and other Quest Diagnostics services.
  • Complete Chain of Custody (COC) forms and Alcohol Testing Forms accurately.
  • Label specimens as required and upload, fax, or mail COC and Alcohol Testing Form within 24 hours.
  • Package specimens for transport and ship to the lab indicated on work orders.
  • Maintain records of each specimen collected and support Record Deletion process when directed by Management.
  • Provide customer service to clients and communicate appropriately with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure equipment is neat, clean, and in good repair, and advise Manager or Supervisor of required repairs and maintenance.
  • Keep necessary supplies on hand and contact the proper website when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Participate on teams and special events when asked.
