About The Position

Purpose of the role To use innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves, leveraging these insights to inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organisation. Join Barclays as a Collections Strategy Analyst, where you will support Payment Program and Settlement strategy optimization, as well as digital collections analytics with an emphasis on Settlement strategies. At Barclays, we’re building the bank of tomorrow. In this role, you will be responsible for performing deep-dive analysis to understand emerging trends related to settlement performance, setting up analytical tests, and improving settlement strategy outcomes. This is an end-to-end strategy owner role, where you will identify strategic opportunities, navigate the approval process, partner with technology to implement changes, and monitor the financial impact of the changes following successful implementation.

Requirements

  • Expertise in strategy development, testing, and performance optimization
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects with technology and operations teams
  • The ability to analyze complex datasets and translate insights into actionable strategies

Responsibilities

  • Identification, collection, extraction of data from various sources, including internal and external sources.
  • Performing data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Development and maintenance of efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
  • Design and conduct of statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.
  • Development and implementation of predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to seek out opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.
  • To perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement.
  • Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise
  • Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise
