The Collections Specialist process daily work related to placing and maintaining delinquent accounts sent to collections agencies. Maintains updates, processing, and reporting within Cable One's collection recovery software (DebtNext). This position consolidates collections functions performed by each Cable One System in one location. Responabilties may include acquisition and evaluation of consumer credit data, statistical and predictive modeling for new, expanding and/ or terminated accounts, collection of past due balances and resolutions of disputed amounts and payments.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • High School diploma.
  • Associate’s degree (A.A..) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service regarding collection issues
  • Resolve billing errors and disputes associated with collection issues
  • Deliver credit and collections support for Customer Care Sales team
  • Enter bankruptcy notices in billing systems
  • Respond to customer, associate, and collection agency inquiries
  • Provide backup for other Collections Specialists and Manager as needed
  • Maintains the Credit and Collections email inbox
  • Maintain Collection reports
  • Learn and comply with Cable One credit and collections practices and policies.
  • Learns and complies with regulatory requirements, including SOX.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
