About The Position
The Collections Representative position at Benuck & Rainey involves managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls related to collections. The primary responsibility is to contact consumers who owe money to clients, discussing their repayment options and assessing their ability to pay. This role requires meticulous documentation of consumer interactions in the collections database and adherence to performance goals, deadlines, and objectives. Compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and state consumer protection laws is essential. The position also includes skip-tracing and other assigned duties as necessary. Candidates for this role should possess excellent phone etiquette and the ability to create a sense of urgency in conversations. Strong negotiation and communication skills are crucial, along with being well-organized and capable of multitasking. Efficient use of an auto-dialer system and effective decision-making skills are also required. Basic computer skills are necessary to navigate the collections database and other software used in the role. The position is designed for individuals who are coachable and receptive to feedback, striving for continuous improvement in their performance. Physical qualifications include the ability to lift a minimum of 5 pounds, sit for 90% of the workday, bend at the waist, and communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. The role requires operating a computer, phone, or equivalent device, and completing a flexible 40-hour workweek schedule. This full-time position offers a compensation of $20 per hour, with additional monthly bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.
