About The Position

In this role you will assist members, staff, and third parties with general aspects of non-bankrupt legal and processing bankrupt accounts for the credit union. Document and track incoming bankruptcy cases. Complete required documentation processing and meet all deadlines for court actions. Review Chapter 13 plans and file timely proof-of-claims. Monitor Chapter 13 Trustee websites for activity and payments. Communicate with credit union members and/or their bankruptcy attorney to determine intention associated with any collateral attached to loans. Requirements

  • Minimum of six months of similar or related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent Customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of bankruptcies, repossessions, legal actions, foreclosures, loan extension/modifications, and collateral protection

Responsibilities

  • Document and track incoming lawsuits, complaints and legal actions associated with collection activities.
  • Document and track incoming and current bankruptcy cases in a timely manner.
  • Accurately Review, monitor, post BK13 plans for credit union loans.
  • Communicate directly with members and effectively discuss resolution options.
  • Work with bankruptcy attorneys and trustees to determine member intent involving vehicles.
  • Ensure any revolving credit lines are closed, and appropriate adverse action notice is provided.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policy and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with associated regulations including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Utilize all existing phone numbers, residence, and employer information to contact members.
