The South Carolina State Museum (SCSM) is seeking a detail-oriented individual to help manage the physical care of its collections, which tell the stories of South Carolina. The museum is the largest in the state, stewarding over 1.1 million objects and specimens and welcoming over 5 million visitors in its 34-year history. The SCSM is currently undergoing a renovation of 150,000 square feet of its exhibition, programmatic, and collection storage spaces. The Collections Manager will report to the Director of Collections Management and will play a key role in improving storage conditions, overseeing cleaning, coordinating with facilities management for environmental monitoring, and assisting with the physical processing of acquisitions and loans. This position is integral to the ongoing full inventory of the museum's collection and will consult on upcoming storage renovations.
