About The Position

Environmental Works, Inc. is seeking an experienced Collections Manager to lead the collections’ function, drive timely payments, and support healthy cashflow across a multi-location organization.   This role will manage collection strategies and serve as the go-to expert for escalated customer accounts.   The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, skilled at balancing assertive collections efforts with strong customer relationship management, and able to effectively communicate with both internal stakeholders and external customers. If you like the challenge of influencing others and appreciate advocating for your team, you would make a great addition to EWI in this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years in a debt collection or related role
  • Strong knowledge of collection laws and compliance requirements
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Responds effectively to changing tasks and priorities.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Positive and cooperative attitude.
  • Must be self-motivated, yet willing to work as a team.
  • Extremely reliable, desire to learn and succeed.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
  • Capable of multitasking while maintaining a professional and supportive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Deltek software systems (Ajera, Vision, or Vantagepoint) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide regular reporting and analysis on collections’ performance, trends, and risk exposure.
  • Contact clients with overdue accounts via phone, email, or mail to collect payments or negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Drive process improvement to reduce delinquency and improve recovery rate.
  • Review and analyze aging reports to prioritize collection efforts and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with EWI employees to resolve payment discrepancies quickly.
  • Send client statements monthly.
  • Send delinquency notices.
