The Collections Lead will have an opportunity to work anywhere within the United States. The Collections Lead oversees a department or specialized unit within the Collections function, providing strategic leadership to teams managed by Managers and/or Team Leaders. Operating at a senior level, this role combines high‑level departmental oversight with the ability to serve as an expert individual contributor on complex, high‑impact matters. The Senior Collections Manager is responsible for developing and executing collection strategies that support the Firm’s broader business objectives, ensuring operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement across processes and performance outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management or related field
  • 8+ years of Progressive experience in collections, credit management, accounts receivable, or a related financial operations discipline, with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • And 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and consistently, honors commitments, and presents insights in a compelling and influential manner.
  • Deep functional and technical knowledge of collections processes, regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Maintains high productivity, takes personal responsibility, and consistently delivers high‑quality, timely, and collaborative work.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to team including coaching, mentoring and professional development or oversight to a department.
  • Responsible for providing performance feedback on a regular basis.
  • Direct a department or specialized unit within the Collections function, providing leadership to Managers, Team Leaders, and staff.
  • Develop and execute collection strategies that align with organizational goals and financial targets.
  • Use data‑driven insights to forecast trends, identify risks, and recommend strategic improvements.
  • Lead change initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and overall performance.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure timely, accurate, and effective collection activities.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, service levels, and productivity standards for the department.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including staffing, technology, and workflow design, to maximize output.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Partner with Finance, Billing, Legal, Client Service, and other departments to resolve complex issues and support business needs.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert on collections strategy, process, and policy for internal stakeholders.
  • Represent the Collections function in firmwide initiatives, committees, and strategic discussions.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Managers and Team Leaders to build a high‑performing, growth‑oriented culture.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, identify skill gaps, and implement training or development plans.
  • Promote accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Oversee the resolution of escalated or high‑risk accounts, applying expert judgment to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Identify systemic issues and implement corrective actions to reduce future risk.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and audit readiness across all collection processes.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on collections performance, trends, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
  • Analyze portfolio performance to identify opportunities for improvement or intervention.
  • Leverage technology and analytics tools to enhance reporting accuracy and operational transparency.
