About The Position
The Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector & Voter Registrar maintains tax accounts and collects property taxes, performs vehicle registrations and title transfers, and facilitates the voter registration process for stakeholders in the nation's third largest county. The Collections Deputy Specialist I is responsible for the accurate processing, balancing, and research of property tax payment transactions. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to effectively manage payment discrepancies. The role involves working closely with taxpayers, tax office departments, and external institutions, including banks and bill pay systems, to ensure timely and accurate processing of payments. Additionally, the Collections Deputy Specialist I will assist in telephone support and documentation management related to payment transactions.
