About The Position

The position involves providing vocal and instrumental accompaniment for private lessons across various musical genres. Students may study genres such as classical, musical theatre, commercial, jazz, folk, pop, and adult contemporary. The role requires the accompanist to be proficient in reading charts, sheet music, and scores, with a preference for pianists. Additionally, accompanists are expected to conduct a weekly 30-minute rehearsal with each student. The role also includes accompanying at the Recital Seminar on Mondays at 5:00 pm as needed and providing accompaniment for ensembles as assigned.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in piano, conducting, music education, or comparable experience.
• Experience working with both singers and instrumentalists preferred.
• Solid piano skills.
• Strong sight-reading music skills.
