About the position

The Collaborative Physician role at Premise Health involves providing oversight to advance practice providers in a fully remote setting. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with state licensing and supervision requirements while supporting nurse practitioners (NP) and physician assistants (PA) in delivering quality patient care. The physician will conduct quality reviews, provide feedback, and maintain collaborative agreements as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to advance practice providers in accordance with state licensing and supervision requirements.
• Conduct quality reviews of patient charts periodically based on state regulations and/or Premise Procedure.
• Be available to NP/PA via phone/pager or in person during clinical activities for consultation on patient care.
• Execute and periodically renew collaborative agreements with NP/PA as required by state law and/or Premise Procedure.
• Provide feedback to NP/PA on performance, including areas for improvement.
• Perform duties required by laws, rules, or regulations relating to collaboration with NP/PA as designated by state law.
• Conduct site visits to meet with respective PA/NP as required by state regulations and law.
• Oversee lab functions including CLIA waived lab and testing if applicable.
• Oversee onsite RN, co-signing RN Standing Orders.

Requirements

• MD or DO with unrestricted license in the State where providers perform assessments.
• Board certification in an appropriate Primary Care specialty.
• Prior collaborative experience preferred.
• Knowledge of information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases.
• Knowledge of symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
• Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
