About the Job: We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist to serve as a Collaborating Physician for our team of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs), while also providing part-time direct psychiatric care to clients. This dual role allows for meaningful clinical engagement alongside leadership and oversight responsibilities. Ideal candidates are passionate about team-based mental health care, evidence-based treatment, and supportive collaboration with advanced practice clinicians

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) with residency training in Psychiatry.
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN).
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in multiple states, or willing to get licensed in multiple states
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-residency experience, preferably with supervisory or collaborative experience with PMHNPs.
  • Deep understanding of the NP scope of practice in psychiatry and relevant state regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentorship skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outpatient psychiatry and/or telepsychiatry settings.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, integrated care, and/or addiction psychiatry (a plus).
  • Multistate licensure or willingness to obtain additional licenses (if telehealth is part of the model).
  • Experience with EMR systems and virtual collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision and support to PMHNPs in accordance with state laws and psychiatric board regulations.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing chart reviews, case consultations, and quality assurance activities.
  • Support PMHNPs in complex psychiatric evaluations, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements for psychiatric NP supervision.
  • Contribute to ongoing clinical education, best practice implementation, and policy development.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management sessions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based psychiatric care for a range of mental health conditions (e.g., mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, etc.).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including therapists, case managers, and social workers.
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation within the EMR system.
