About The Position

The Cold Storage Forklift Operator position at Interstate Warehousing involves receiving, storing, and distributing products in refrigerated and/or frozen environments. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods within the warehouse and requires operating electric-powered forklifts and hand-trucks. The position offers on-the-job training and a structured pay scale with opportunities for raises after a probationary period.

Requirements

• Basic math skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to operate in 0-36 degree temperatures with provided PPE
• Ability to lift heavy objects
• Willingness to learn and operate heavy equipment such as forklifts

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with warehouse operations and materials handling
• Prior experience with order picking or shipping & receiving tasks

Responsibilities

• Reads shipping order and/or picking order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Positions forks and/or other lifting devices under or over loaded pallets and transports them to designated warehouse areas and/or storage racks.
• Loads and/or unloads product items and other materials onto and off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Lifts, counts, sorts, and places product items on pallets according to order fill instructions or special requirements.
• Prepares and records order fill tickets and truck logs in accordance with company standards.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
